What does Comvita UMF™ 18+ and MGO 696+ mean?

The UMF™ and MGO labels help consumers better understand the properties of Mānuka med. However, they are not identical systems.

UMF™ is a certification system that evaluates the authenticity and quality of Mānuka med through multiple indicators. MGO refers to the concentration of methylglyoxal, a naturally occurring compound measured in honey.

For this product, the UMF™ 18+ designation corresponds to an MGO value of 696+. The numerical designations help you compare different products, but do not, by themselves, mean that one honey will be the best choice for every customer.

To better understand these labels, read our guide to MGO and UMF – explained and compared .

Why choose this Mānuka med kit?

Two products in one package

Vrhunsko Novi Zeland origin

Mānuka med is made from the nectar of the flowers of the Mānuka plant, which is native to Novi Zeland. Comvita is known for its Mānuka med products with the UMF™ label. It is always a good idea to check the brand, rating and information on the packaging when purchasing.

You can also find more about the product and the rating system on the official website of the manufacturer Comvita UMF 18+ Mānuka med .

A practical choice for everyday use

Mānuka med can be enjoyed by the spoonful, spread on bread ili toast, added to yogurt ili porridge, ili stirred into a lukewarm drink. If adding it to tea, let the drink cool from the boiling point first.

This set may also be an interesting choice for people who like to try different types of honey ili are looking for a gift for a quality food lover.

Način upotrebe and store Manuka honey?

You can consume honey according to your own taste preferences as part of your regular diet. To maintain quality, store jars tightly closed in a dry place, out of direct sunlight, and according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Natural crystallization is a common occurrence in honey and does not in itself mean that the product is spoiled. To soften honey, you can carefully heat it, avoiding excessive heat.

Important note: med is not suitable for children under 12 months of age. Mānuka med is a food, not a medicine, and should not be used as a substitute for medical care.
